2019

In the last month or three, we had the announcement of the 2019 NFL schedule. Now that we know who will play whom and when, we can start predicting wins and losses.

2018 Summary

Last year, I predicted that

Chicago Bears = 8-8
Tennessee Titans = 8-8

How they actually did was

Chicago Bears = 12-4
Tennessee Titans = 9-7

The Titans prediction was close, but the Bears was not. So that’s not worth much.

How about the methods overall?

This was probably the best year yet, as far as highest numbers correct overall. I’m not going to bother checking, either.

2019

Now that the 2019 schedule is out, I have setup the 2019 NFL predictions. Here is my summary of the results:

Consensus (3 or more methods in agreement):

Atlanta Falcons = 5-11
Cleveland Browns = 8-8
Denver Broncos = 3-13
Jacksonville Jaguars = 16-0
Philadelphia Eagles = 11-5

Looks fairly reasonable, actually. As long as Jacksonville’s draft prospects pan out.

I’m still not used to having teams in LA. I hope the Raiders stay put a little longer, so I don’t have to change my template again.

Enjoy the predictions, but there are caveats: if any major player gets injured, that team’s projected results are void. Also, if any roster has changed from last year, that team’s projected results are void. Same thing with new coaches.
