Big Ten Logo Update

Breaking news, just in from the Big Ten headquarters in Park Ridge, Illinois :

With the upcoming addition of a twelfth team, the Big Ten conference has released a new logo. Since the old logo incorporated the number “11” inside the text “BigTen”, that logo was no longer relevant to the expanded conference.

The new logo retains the look and feel of the previous logo, emphasizing the history of the Big Ten while at the same time subtly showing the progress the conference has made in growing to twelve members.

That’s actually a good logo if they are going to retain the name Big Ten, which I believe they will. Obviously the PAC 10 will be renamed the PAC 12, just as they changed from 8 to 10 when they added two to go to ten.

The Big Ten lost their chance to do this when they didn’t expect to ever go beyond ten teams and so didn’t get Big Twelve and Big 12 trade marked long ago.

I wonder if they have trademarked (Big Fourteen, Fifteen and Sixteen)?

I love the new logo! How can I get this in high res? I would love to have it as a desktop photo. Please email to me if you can. I sure hope the Big Ten goes with this.

    Thanks

The Big Ten already chose a different logo. And I made only one size of it, so what you see in this blog post is all there is. Sorry.
