The Rodeo

We went to a nearby rodeo recently. Here are some photos and commentary from that.
We start with the horses lined up for the opening cermonies:
which include running the flags around while the anthems are sung:
It wasn’t just a rodeo – it was an equestrian expo (with a rodeo as part of it)
One of the first events was to get the lassos ready:
in order to prevent the goat from getting away:
Sometimes you get the bull:
Sometimes the bull gets you:
There were slalom races:
And the evening finished with the bull riding:
Okay, it actually finished with the bull standing still:
The older kids enjoyed it and wanted to stay to the very end. So we did.
I recommend it – well worth the $5 admission.
Now if we put the bits into the horses’ mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well.

Looks fun, though I suspect my allergies would not enjoy it.

Maybe you could take your allergies to the sports expo instead. Or maybe send your allergies to the sports expo while you go to the rodeo.
